Peace Action of Wisconsin presents our annual
Lanterns for Peace
“Hiroshima and Nagasaki Commemoration”

Friday – August 9th, 2024 from 6 – 9 PM

6 pm – Gather at Zao Church, 2319 E. Kenwood Blvd,  Milwaukee, WI for Japanese Lantern Making, Origami peace cranes, and refreshments.

7 pm – Commemorative Program – Reflections on Atomic Bombings by Julie Enslow; Quotes from Hibakusha (survivors); Thoughts on Peace and Disarmament by Cameron Malakai, Pastor at Zao Church; Music by Jess Devitt and James X.

8 pm – Procession to Lantern Vigil along Lincoln Memorial Dr., near Bradford Beach until 9 pm.  (Walk, bike, or carpool to Bradford Beach from Zao Church.)
