The country is heading into the important fall midterm elections.  Each day brings news and dark accusations about the elections:  What does voter suppression look like?  Why do lock boxes matter?  What is “vote harvesting” and why is it bad?  Why is early voting & vote-by-mail controversial?

The speakers will clarify what has gone wrong, how it has gone wrong, and how we can respond.

Rev. Greg Lewis is the Assistant Pastor of St. Gabriel Church of God in Christ and President and co-founder of Souls to the Polls, a non-profit organization, dedicated to the collective power of voting as a response to pressing social issues through collective action and community involvement.

Souls to the Polls enhances collective action through community involvement in several public arenas.

Dorothy K. Dean is the founder of Disability Justice, a civil rights nonprofit organization to empower the disabled community.

Dorothy Dean has served on the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors and as Milwaukee County Treasurer. She is a long-time member of the League of Women Voters. Her public service includes serving on a legislative committee and as an advocate for the Metro Milwaukee Fair Housing Council.
