Milwaukee Rally and Caravan to Support the United Nations Vote to Lift the US Blockade & Let Cuba Rebuild
Sunday – October 30th, 2022 – 12:30 PM
Zao MKE Church – 2319 E. Kenwood Boulevard – Milwaukee, WI
Rally to support the 30th annual debate and vote by the UN General assembly, calling for an end to the US "embargo"/economic blockade of Cuba.
Almost the entire world has supported Cuba’s effort in bringing this issue to the United Nations, including all of our NATO allies -- but except for one year under Obama, the US administration and US mass media routinely ignore this consensus expression by the world community.
Especially after the worst fire in Cuba history in August and Hurricane Ian’s savaging western Cuba in late September and bringing down its entire electrical grid, the US should at least temporarily suspend sanctions to allow Cuba to rebuild.
President Biden should take Cuba off the US list of nations that supposedly support terrorism. Trump added Cuba in his last week in office, citing Cuba’s hosting Colombian guerrilla organization representatives (who were part of peace negotiations in Havana sponsored by Cuba and Norway.) This has seriously impeded international trade and travel to Cuba.
